i have fitted a hid kit to my blob eye and gone for plug and play fitting method direct to existing wiring
does anyone know if the thin original wiring can take the current to supply the ballast units or is it best to use the wiring and relay supplied and connect direct to battery?

When they're running the current is lower than the standard bulbs because the HID's take only about 35W each rather than 55W for the original headlights. Problem I found was that when they first start up, especially in cold weather, they take a lot more current.
I fitted mine in the summer using the normal fuse and it was fine for a couple of weeks. By October it was blowing that so I fitted a 20A and it was OK but I worried about the priniciple of just keep putting bigger fuses in so I rewired it with relays.
This high current on start is only for few seconds. Can the wiring take double the design current for few seconds? Probably. Do I want to risk it? No.
Try it with the standard fuse in. If it works the wiring will be OK. If it blows the fuse then fit the relay loom.
