Default Covers for the Prodrive driving lights (Hella 1000FF)

Hi All,

Finally got round to fitting the above lights and was using original fog light covers. But one has already gone missing

So does anybody have a set of covers for the Prodrive (Hella 1000FF) driving lights?

Failing this, is anybody aware of a website that sells them?

I'm desperate need of the said items!

Cheers,

Charlie

I'm fairly sure you'll be out of luck. Mine came from Scoobysport as part of the kit, but Scoobysport went **** up some years ago. You MIGHT find someone on here with a set lying around.........

Sorry not to be more help,

Alcazar

Stick a post in "Wanted".

Or do you know anyone with a vacuum-forming outfit? Some schools have them, and MAY allow an older pupil to make some for you out of plastic, that's how mine were made, I'm pretty sure....

Or go and explain what you want it for to a local signwriter, buy the plastic off him, cut to shape, fit three cupboard bumpstops on the rear to hold it away from the lens, and fasten it on with a thin luggage strap, or wide elastic, threaded through slots at either side, and top/bottom to stop it slipping. A bit Fred Carnot, but hey, if it saves your lenses.........

If it's the clear plastic stone guards you're after, try this link:

Hella Hella FF1000 Driving, Pencil Beam and Dynaview Lamps

It's in the US, but they sell the guards at $11 each. Might be too much trouble to order from the US though.

I bought the FF1000 kit including brackets for a bugeye WRX for $135 as I couldn't find them in the UK. They were good to deal with and delivery was pretty quick.

Hi Dave,

Thanks for your reply, I'd posted on NASIOC and they had pointed me in the direction of Rally Light.com.

$22, sounds quite reasonable! Especially when compared to Subaru's comparable parts!

Just don't know if I'll be stung with Duty when they arrive. What was your experiences like when you received the kit from the US? Did you have to pay duty and if so, how much?

Cheers,

Charlie

How much duty could they charge on $22?

In any case, even if they put ANOTHER $22 on, you've still only paid £20 odd for 'em, one lens is a lot more than that.

Charlie,

Experience of buying from the US was pretty good. The guy at Rally lights was upfront in saying that he wouldn't provide false documents on the price, or that the package was a gift. Fair enough I suppose as it's his business. I called some UK customs number and got a commodity code which was put on the documents. From memory, I paid VAT at 17.5%, plus about £10 duty. I can check on that if you want as I don't have the receipt to hand. When you speak to UK customs, they'll tell you how much the duty will be.

My order was for the driving light kit as well as the lens covers, so even with postage and duty etc, the overall price was about £100 cheaper than getting the same kit in the UK.
