Default New headlight bulbs

I need to get some new headlight bulbs, anyone recommend any decent ones - i quite like them ones that are really bright (almost blue)..

Are they easy to fit ? Anyone fancy giving me a quick 1-2-3 steps on how to do it, pitfalls etc...

cheers

Classic or newage,

Classic are very straight forward to fit H4 bulbs.

Newage you need small hands, and have to remove the induction scoop, and think its the power steering bottle on the offside.
Nearside is just about accessable.
Dipped H1 main HB3.

Both cars use W5W sidelights.
On a newage you have to remove the entire headlamp unit to acces these.
Classic, unscrew the screw at the top and pull hard to release the balljoint.

Anyway try Power Bulbs - autobulbs, autolamps, xenon headlights, car bulbs, headlight bulbs, osram silverstar, silver star, philips vision plus, philips blue vision, bluevision

and how to remove headlamp unit blobeye:

Don't waste loads of dosh on expensive bulbs or blue ones. The bluer the bulb, actually the LESS light it produces

Recent tests in Auto Express have shown Halfords Super Brilliance 50% or 60% uprated bulbs to be a best buy, with good output and excellent optical performance, (VERY important: if the bulb's optics are all over, so will the light be).

Halfords had a BOGOF offer on them last month too, it MAY still be on.........

Richiewong was pointing out that on some of the newage cars the only feasible way to get to some of the bulbs to change them is to remove the whole headlight from the car. Incredible but true.

And it's NOT just a Scoob thing, a "crowded engine bay" thing, or even a modern thing. On the wife's '99 Xantia, I have to remove the o/s headlight to replace bulbs. The only upside being that once you know how to do it, it can be removed and replaced in about 5 minutes.

And the front foglight bulbs are a dealer fit, as the bumper has to come off

That'll be £100 plus bulb plus VAT, sir

Default bulb change

I have a 2002 blobeye and have managed to change my main beam H1 and parking bulbs W5W without having to remove the headlights.just removed the airscoop and un did the battery holder.the trickiest was the driver side parking bulb as the bonnet release wire somewhat obscures it.All in all 4 bulbs replaced in 15 mins.power bulbs have good deals, thats were my bulbs came from.imol62
