anyone else broke that little white headlight bracket

changing a blown sidelight bulb on my03 sti. instead of looking on here i followed the instructions in the owners manual. removed the front grille as shown, removed the 2 headlight fixing bolts as shown & pulled the headlight assembly towards me as shown. result - a loud crack & the headlight came free leaving behind the remainder of the white fixing bracket.
i suppose i should have followed the de-tango link which clearly shows this bracket.
oh well you live & learn. now i know how to do it i think a de0tango is in order.

I broke one of the little ball joints on my classic sidelight, years ago. Repaired it with superglue to tack it in place, then Araldite to strengthen it. It's been in and out several times since with no ill effects.
I also repaired the headlight bracket on a xantia some years ago, as above, but also reinforced with a brass strip from a local model shop, and held on with two tiny self-tappers into the plastic, sealed with superglue.
