I have a 99 Legacy Outback which had 205/70-15 tires on it and I replaced them with tires and wheels off of a 2002 WRX which had 205/55-16 tires. Now my speedometer reads 5 mph too high. Can I install a speed senser for a 2002 WRX into my 99 Outback to correct this? Thanks, Keith

Maybe, but if you followed that line of thinking you'd change the gearbox/diffs as well. How's this:
Tire Size Comparison
Specification Sidewall Radius Diameter Circumference Revs/km Difference205/70-15 144mm 334mm 668mm 2099mm 477 0.0%205/55-16 113mm 316mm 632mm 1985mm 504 -5.4%So in other words, it'll read just over 5% faster. Which doesn't actually matter, seeing as from the factory most cars read anything up to 10% under. It's basically made your speedo more accurate.

Thanks for the info. You're right, it's probably not that big of a deal. I have a GPS which shows MPH and comparing it to my speedometer it appears that my speedometer reads about 10% higher. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it looks like I'm putting on more milage than I really am. If I keep this Subie as long as my last one, I won't have to worry about resale value anyway. Thanks, Keith
