Fuse for cigarette lighter on a classic??
My lighter socket stopped working on the weekend. I checked all the fuses in the drivers footwell and under the bonnet.
Just wondering if there are any other hidden fuses i dont know about before i start ripping things out.

The lighter itself has a fuse in it as well.
The outer part, and the inner part are connected by a thin piece of wire.
So if someone tries to rig the lightersocket for higher amperage use, by fitting a larger fuse, the lighter itself will burn out, without the risk of the car/dash getting to hot.
I have seen people use a solid piece of metal, to make the socket power a Inverter, so I guess that's why manufacturers use this method as a backup plan.
