Default Apexi AVC-R problem

I think I may have a problem with my Apexi AVC-R, which was on the car that ive just recently purchased.

Is the display meant to light up straight away, or is there some way of turning it on and off?

Mine has no display on the blue screen, but all of the buttons are lit up.

Any help appreciated.

Mine lights the screen up when turning on the ignition. I get an Apexi logo that fades and then shows the readings and options if selected.

Did you buy it privately or from a dealer? If privately, the seller should have run through the basics and options with you. You need to have a bit of prior knowledge before pressing too many buttons!
As said, it should come on with the ignition.

It was bought private, but I found the AVC-R tucked away in the back of the dash when I went to put my stereo in....the guy only had the car a few months and couldnt afford to run it, and knew very little about it, so tbh, I dont think he even knew it was there.

Im quite concerned that buttons have been pressed, and altered something, without me knowing, and not being able to see the screen, obviously is a problem.

best bet mate is to pop it over to a mapper depending on where you are based.
if the unit is faulty or has caused any map issues the ebst thing is to take it to someone to sort it out and give it a once over.
even if you can get the screen on you still wont really know if everything is all ok

Yeah thats the plan now really, it always was the plan before putting it on the road anyhow, as it has an Apexi Super AFC on it too, and who knows whats been pressed and messed with.

Hopefully speaking to a mapper on Tuesday about doing mine when our rally Impreza is getting mapped.

Thanks for the replies guys.
