Seat belt warning beeper (i think) CAN'T TURN IT OFF!!
Does anybody know what might be faulty to cause the seatbelt warning beeper to go off? As far as i know it should be de-activated (although mine's a 98 STi import) for the UK, but sometimes, not always, beeeep, beeeep, beeeep. And once it's started, it won't usually stop. It seems to happen randomly.
1. Is it the seatbelt warning unit? It comes from one of the units behind the plastic trim on the driver's side wheelarch, near the brake pedal.
2. If it is, can it be permanently disabled without damaging the car/electrics?
3. If it isn't, any other ideas?
I was told a few months ago that connecting/disconnecting the seatbelt rapidly 20 times with the ignition on would help, and unless it was a coincidence, it did for a while. But it's back now, and really annoying me. Any advice appreciated, cheers.

Right ok, thanks. So without sounding an idiot, how do you disconnect a wire in there?! Do you have to unbolt the seat belt stem from the floor or something?
Can't see how the dashboard light is affected though? Isn't that activated by pulling the seatbelt over your lap, not actually engaging it? Confused!!

when you put your belt on the buzzer stops and the light goes of its all part of the same circuit, put your hand under the seat and feel for the wire once found find the multi plug then disconnect, but you may find that you need to earth it to stop a the buzzer or b the light
