Installig rear lights
Am changing my rear lights for STI lights.
What is the best way to remove the sealant left behind by the old lights and what is the best sealent to use for the new.
Sure I have read on here that silicone is not a good idea and you should use something used by the cravan fraternity
TIA

Removing the old: scrape, elbow grease, white spirit
Sealing: a substance called CARAFAX Caraseal, IDL99, available from caravan dealers, Halfords, (some) and on the net. Comes in a mastic tube for use in a mastic gun, and is a non-setting caulk used to seal caravan parts.
Made by a company in Hull if you have problems getting any
