Yea had the same problem, tried the led's by themself. Then went for the lockwood white dial kit.

After doing all that above, I went a bought myself a gps snooper. That displays my mph anyway and sits just above the speedo housing.

To be honest Ive never updated it, I 99% of the time use it for the speed display. As its easier to see where Ive got it set.

Forgot to say, in the white dial kit you do get the white faces for the fuel and temp. Just that I didnt do them.

Subaru Impreza MPH KMH Speedo meter clocks. Dials white & coloured

What are these like to fit? Easy enough job or a bit complicated. I had a Toyota Starlet and getting the dials out was a really fiddly annoying job.

ok bare with me with this please
i keep seeing this topic mentioned about the poor lighting,on the classsic dashboards.ok when you put in standard bulbs are they not white???? but yet you get a green lillumination,if you take the dash out then the back of the clocks off there are little cups which the bulbs shine through,to get the colour surely if you take the these little cups out you will have a much brighter light.........

ceri

p.s. thats what i did on my mk 2 escort

Sort of.

Take the bulbs out, they have a bluey green condom type thing over them. Remove the condom and the light is better. I'll go and take a pic.

I also went down the LED route, then had a brainwave.

The brainwave was that the LED's were shite and didn't illuminated the clocks very well.

Look good, but that's all.

Little cups, not sure mate. It was a rush swap so I wasn't really looking.

Hello, when i bought my classic scooby about a year ago and I had the same problem, the lights are dull. So In my wisdom i pulled the clocks out and i also removed the green condom things off. To be honest it didn't make that much of a difference and I was really disappointed with the out come!

I wanted bright blue lights in my dash but when I pulled it all apart and then found out i needed odd shaped bulbs i had to put the car back together as I needed to use it!

Would pull it apart again but the speedo was a nightmare to get back on so i'll leave it, Gutted!
