Default alarm? or not?

just been having a nosey under the bonnet of my 99my v5 jdm sti and have noticed a second horn near the battery, the ordinary horn is behind the grill as normal.Anyone know if it could be an alarm? it is certainly original equipment. I know my leggy used to beep at me when locked with factory IR remote but this wasn't an alarm. I cant get this to beep at all - what the hell does it do? cheers chaps in anticipation of reply.

probably nothing to do with the alarm. More likely to be part of the horn system.

queries on alarms etc can be posted in the security section.

I've got a second horn type thing near my battery on my jdm 1995 wrx. Its not an alarm. I always just assumed I had two horns, never really bothered about it. Might have a play with it over the weekend - might sound better than the gay standard horn!!

if they had two horns as standard (ie a low frequency and a high frequency) surely they would be placed together? all other manufacturers do??
