Guessing you earthed the HIDs to the chassis from the Ballasts, that could be the difference. If you don't when driving on full beam and switching back to low the HIds take a while to warm up so you get a dark period during the change over (not safe!).

You need to understand that Subaru wire the units up so that the switching is to earth, and the positive is a constant feed. If it all works don't worry.
If you earth the HID separately, it could cause this to happen.

Dunx, do me a favour - nip outside and tell me if both hi AND low beam flash when you pull the stalk towards you......pretty please (joking btw)
The light work 100% - 100% improvment over original bulbs too (must fit main beam too though), just I never noticed before if both main and dip flashed if you pulled the stalk towards you.
Nothing wrong in my view, just something that was annoying me.
The kit was as simple as they come in terms of fitting - no relay, no battery connections - simple dip beam circuit to ballast, ballast to HID bulb (as shown here)

ARGH !
Some fool just switched my lights on....
it's your fault I'm blind now !
Main beam only, plus a pair of very fetching Hella FF's, a certain gentleman sold me....
Cheers mate !
dunx
P.S. Stick to 4300 K for main beam, others produce blue light which scatters in damp/misty conditions, spooky but not life threatening !

Hmmmm plot thickens
Cheers Dunx - mine are both main and dip.
Strange.
Anyway, yes 4300k is what I was looking for in terms of actual light output and appearance - so I'll fit them to main beam too.
