Default Driving lamps for a blobeye

Does anyone know if there are driving light kits available for a blobeye STi. I can find foglight kits but not the high power driving lamps that you can get for the classics. If they are out there can the existing loom for the fogs handle the driving lamps.

Thanks, Rich.

Hi Rich, I just wired mine to the main beam. It's too much aggro to re-wire the fog lamp switch to only come on with the main beam.

I just ran a +VE to a relay which is switched with the main beam wiring, and then hooked up to each spot light, which are earthed to chassis.

Try Google (PIAA driving lamp kit) at about £230 a set. (Scoobyworld !)

HTH

P.S. mine's a bug-eye so can't tell you any more !

Hi dunx, I checked scoobyworld and scoobyparts but they only kits up to a2000 plate.
I want the switch to be independant as I will only use the lights when I am up the ranges in the dark.

Currently search for kits using google / ebay.

richie, where did you get them from? they look like the WR1's lights. I'm not bothered about the surround as I will only be using them occasionally.

They were on the car when i bought it(i believe that they are from the wr1) but they wired though the main beam and you turn them on/off though i switch on the dash.

I got the Hella FF1000 lamps just before Christmas and they were a couple of quid short of £200 and that included brackets. AFAIK they are of a WR1 but they fit my classic so I would expect them to fit later models too

Halogen Driving Lamp Kit

Note these are halogen I think the others might be HID

Pat

ps its not too hard to wire them up to come on with both main beam and fog light switch. You just need a relay which only energises with fog light on selection remembering then to have another relay fired up only on main beam.

Halogens are a very definate improvement but I'm considering putting HIDs in.

I think they are well worth it. The only problem is when you go on dip beam you think you've turned the lights off.
