WARNING! - STi7 headlights
#1
For those of you thinking of fitting STi7 headlights to your WRX please note that the STi lights have a 6 wire beam adjuster motor, and the WRX have a 3 wire beam adjustment motor. This means that (at the moment) the two are NOT interchangeable in either direction

tell me about it i've been there and done it we even got an auto electrician in who could do it but it involved chopping the loom about. when we informed i.m they didn't even know either but are now working on a loom that should fit.

Just ordered my STi 7 :>and was wondering - as the brochure is silent - do the headlights perform better/have a higher spec than the standard MY '01s?

John, a suggestion for fitting the UK300 lights to your STI:
Recentley on I-club www.i-club.com/forums I saw a post offering a kit for sale that allowed you to use the height adjustment on Morette kits. I presume the kit must have included the in car adjuster and all the wiring as the USA models don't have in car adjustment.
So I guess if you get this kit and replace your original in car adjuster and run the new wires you'll be able to use the UK300 lamps.
Hope this is some help.
Cheers

GRIFF is it not 6 wires feeding 2, 3 wire motors on the STi rather than a 6 wire beam adjuster motor. I don't have a clue but just a thought as you mention that the STi has seperate main and dip projector units, therefore they would require 2 motors, one for each unit?
If this was so then it may not be too hard to create a workaround.
Any thoughts.
