Tomtom Connector...
Hi peeps,
Our family car has had a tomtom power lead hard wired into it and it comes up on the right hand side of the dash- perfect as there are no dangling cables and the cigar lighter is kept free.
Only problem is I just bought a newer version of tomtom and the connector, although being the same fitment isn't deep enough for the new satnav! Freakin tomtom do it just to pi$$ me off I'm sure of it!
Does anyone know if I can just buy a car charger off Ebay and cut the existing cable and recrimp the newer version onto it? Also is there a reasonable current going through the cable- i.e would a normal crimp connector be okay to use?
I realise this is a trivial problem but it still needs solving troops!
Cheers, Mike.

if its all the same polarity and voltage, then there is no reason that you cant cut it and connect the new style plug onto what you have. just make sure you do it in a fashion that you can tuck the new connections away under the dash.
