I have just bought this http://www.vi-performance.com/ believing my 2005 Forester STI to have obd 2. It obviously hasn't as it dont work. Tried it in my wifes volvo and it works. Is there any way to make the obd plug in the car obd 2 or is there a lot more to it. The car has been remapped and am just wondering if this makes a difference.

There are not too many OBD devices that work on Subaru's.
You should confirm with the seller, although they will probably just ask if your car is OBD compliant.

Your forrester is odb2 compliant, by law all the car from 2001 onwards petrol 2004 onwards deisel have to be compliant. That doesnt mean that the vi monitor will work though,although seller should know
