Default Hawk clocks

Hey all, thought i would share what ive been doing this afternoon, decided to buy some sweeping clocks for my blob sti the other week, been preparing all week for a nightmare wiring, but for some very odd reason mine plugged in and worked fine even the rev beep, no lights nothing showed up! had to shave the plug but that was it, well chuffed with that

If yours is a widetrack and they are UK clocks out of a hawk they will fit straight in with no lights, The wiring changed on the 05+ model so if you put any sweeping clocks into pre widetrack scoobys they have the dash lights come up or if you put a set of pre 05+(JDM) sweeping clocks into a +05 model you get the same issue

On your HVAC buttons(heater controls) you have to cut the old LED`s out and resolder new ones in i think, The switches can be changed with a bulb, I have the earlier ones so i can just swap my bulbs over but if i`m being honest i need to add another one to each side of my heater dials to get looking right.

You should buy 2 short and 2 long bulbs, you need sand them and put long in the middle as i remember
did you change hvac buttons diodes for ac,mirrors heater..?

cluster swap for 03-04 sti-wrx http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...ht=sti+cluster

Mine is a Spec-C, Only has the 2 bulb holders on the hvac, one in between each of the 3 dials, On normal UK/US versions they have the green tint on the back of the face cover which you need to sand off as the green/red light combination cancels each other out and does`nt give the right look...Mine does`nt have thi green tint,Spec-c does not have illuminated switched for mirrors/windows etc either

Ive got a couple more LED`s here already out of my old V7 sti clocks, same one as i used for the heater controls, Easy enough to wire them into the existing ones to finish it off.

Bump for answers! Does the mileage get stored in the clocks or in the ECU? If I change clocks will it show the mileage of my car, or the car the clocks were taken from?

Thanks!

Definitely stored in the clocks. Chip needs removing, connecting to a laptop - you can then change the hex code on the chip and then resolder it.

Some services out there to do it for you, I went to Manchester for it. The legit services (will need to see your mileage and documentation before doing the change) tend to be cheaper than the non-legit ones, for fairly obvious reasons.

I've got JDM clocks in my Blob with a wired in KMH-MPH convertor. TBH I wish I waited for some Hawk UK ones to come up, as the previous owner (or importer?) had scribbled out the "K" in KMH to make it say "MH" and it looks a bit messy in daylight!

Doubt it's expensive to change the mileage. It's done with the clocks removed anyway.

I paid £50 I think, but that included wiring in the KMH-MPH convertor with no instructions, so a bit of trial and error needed for the guy.
