Default splitting rear lights

hi all,could anybody tell me if it is possible to split the rear sti lense and change the case as my lense is good but i have damaged the bulb holder caseing,i have a spare set of lights with good bulb holder case and wanted to swap them over,any info would be appreciated,thanks

I don't think so. AFAIK, they aren't held together the same way as fronts are, but hot welded.

You could TRY heating them in an oven, 150 degrees C for about five minutes. If they are going to come apart, that will do it, if not, it shouldn't do any harm.

no ,i dropped one and snapped a bit of the curved cover wing type thing of the top

Can you not repair it?

Glue it back on with Solvent Weld, then strengthen with Araldite?

thats looking like the way ill have to go,the standard lights are sat here doing nothing and i thought if you could split them it would look better,cant see it when boot is shut but its one of those things,you know its there and it niggles at you

go on then ill have a go ,looking at them they seem to have little nibs that spring up when pushed in to a cut out,will try later and let you know how i get on

the only way you will get one of these apart is with a hammer and chisel,tried it this afternoon and they must be glued together,they are solid,thanks for the help alcazar
