Default Bug eye front bumper

Is it common for bumpers to be painted with no laquer?

I did a long journey and picked up what I thought was just hundreds of insect suicide bombers but there must of been a few heavy ones or a few stones too as when I cleaned it with same jet wash as always the paint literally flaked off!

So it's booked in for a respray in the morning

Not anymore. Water based paint needs lacquered.

It must have been repainted before, you need to use a plastic primer for adhesion and a plastic aditive for the paint to allow for flex with a plastic part.
