Don't know if its the camber of the carpark but look how high the new STi sits in comparison. Has the old one had a suspension mod?

Nope standard spings & dampers on the old shape. Did Leda 4 a while but swapped back to standard.

Flippin' frustrating or what - I changed my MY00+PPP+Scoobysport for an M3 Evo, and am bored with it, so every time I see a lovely STi like the ones above I move closer and closer to ditching the BMW.

The facelifted version in Sept may be the final straw!

Whats insureance like on the STi compared to a Turbo?

Andy, it would be interesting to hear how you'd compare the 2 from a driving perspective. Is there much in it ?

Someone mentioned a fast white van. Funnily enough my mate Ted once had a Bedford van. He shoehorned a Ford Cologne V6 under the bonnet. Could bloody well shift I can tell you. Wheelspin in 4th gear no problem and as for powerslides along the A27, no problem. Trouble was, she drank like a fish in a beer barrel. No wonder he divorced her......Blutes

These photos are the best old vs. new ones I've seen. Classic vs. New Age, or whatever. I still prefer the old, and, yes, I can afford a new one. Sorry to drag up old news, but these pics are such a graphic illustration. Of course, over here it's academic anyway, Sti-wise.

Andy,
Did you buy the black wheels to replace to Gold, or did the dealer do a deal with you and change the Gold for Black's??
I've yet to see the Silver with Gold wheels, but i'd imagine it will look a bit Odd - I'm looking forward to buying an Sti in Silver, but not sure about the gold wheels, hence my question.
Cheers
Nick

Doh! answered my question by reading the thread further down the page, I'd still be interested to see a Silver with Gold wheels, if anyone can oblige, also who did the wheels for you? Do you have a contact number etc...
Cheers...

Get rid of the BM, you know it makes sense mate
The insurance cost me an extra 120 quid over my WRX.
Driving wise, that STi V is a tad quicker as it has a link ecu and produces well over 300bhp
The STi is my 4th scoob (MY97, MY99, MY01 PPP) and although it's early days it feels by far the most complete package. God I don't even want to mod it at the moment well not until next week anyway

Ray
Thanks for the comments The wheels are standard gold items powder coated anthracite.
