2016 WRX STI
Hi Guys,
Finally took delivery of my new 2016 STI.
Ordered it from Earls Barton Subaru in Northampton and can't speak highly enough about the team there. Adam (Managing Director) was superb from start to finish and even let me borrow their demonstrator for my sisters wedding last month.
Had it standard to start with other than some bits from the dealer, front splitter, side skirts, boot inlay and mats.
Really like the interior with the new starlink system looks much smarter. Power fold mirrors and day time running lights are the main differences I believe.
Didn't get her till 5pm so will get some proper photos up tomorrow
Thanks for looking!

It's a bit like BM's I-Drive (Just not as good)
I'm still playing but I believe you can download apps, it reads my texts to me, downloads my phonebook, no sat nav capability on the standard one yet but reads google maps to you which is enough for me tbh.
The gear **** is something I bought cause I really don't like the standard ones, feels lost in my hand and the red insert looks really cheap. I got it from raceseng. Not cheap and weighs the best part of a kg but changing gears feels much better IMO. Not to everyone's taste but I like it with the white exterior.

10 years ago dealers couldn't shift white cars for love nor money. And for good reason they looks like kitchen appliances, have no real shine to them and get dirty the quickest.
So I always wonder how many people generaly think cars look best in white and how many just jumped on the band wagon

I love white cars, I know what you mean, you never used to see them! I'm only 26 though so have only really been driving since they've been back in.
I'd totally debate the no shine comment (Got to defend my new purchase) the pearlescent paint looks amazing! Will get a photo up if the nice weather continues.
I drive a clio 172 as my daily so won't be giving the STI too much opportunity to get dirty in the week especially over the winter!

I see they've put the Aux/usb ports in the dash cubby hole as well. That's another difference. Also to reiterate the shine comment, the paint is pearlescent white, so it in fact pings and shines very nicely. I can get a really nice wet/gloss finish on mine before any polishing/waxing.

Congrats on the new car!!
I did hear of some issues with the 2.5's on the NASIOC forum, however i hear they bringing the STi's out with the 2.0 soon?

The new car has a semi decent map and a few other changes. A proper tuners map is always a safer bet anyway, plus you get more power/torque and better MPG, which is what I had done as part of the purchase.

You need to do your research a bit better, the US lawsuit is in relation to heavy oil consumption in Subaru FB engines, which includes the 2011-14 Forester, 2013 Legacy and 2013 Outback, with 2.5l engines, and 2012-13 Impreza and 2013 Crosstrek, with 2l engines. NOT the EJ257 STi's 2.5l

No it's not, as the hatch from 2008 on had dodgy maps which caused det and most (not all) of the ringland failures.

At least the jdm version still has a 2.0.

I wouldn't say its a poor engine, its just not as strong as the EJ20 when you mod it past 350 brake.
