Life after 3 Scoobs in a row.

Life after 3 Scoobs in a row.
So, I've had 3 Scoobs since 2006, a hawk WRX, hatch STI and a MY11 STI Saloon, all have been great to own with the MY11 best of all with the combination of practicality, mod cons and the updated spec C suspension.
Decided early this year that the next car has to be something different but could not decide what to go for, problem was all three subarus have been cheap to run, with only the road tax been expensive, none had any issues (engine or mechanically) insurance was peanuts and even main dealer servicing was reasonable.
Very nearly went for an E92 M3 but the potential high running costs put me off, as were the C63 when looked at those too. By chance I spotted (and heard) an A45 and was hooked, newer than both the others, sensible running costs and quick in standard spec.
So, a flight to Aberdeen from London and a 550 mile drive home and she is mine, and I'm loving every minute of driving her, each time I get in it feels special, and with the black gloss aero kit has a little JDM feel too.
So from this which I loved.
To this which in loving!
Hope you like.
Cheers
A

Whats not to like
I love the A45, awesome motor , great looks(and sound) and blistering performance
A great choice and as a fellow 2011 saloon owner is the very same route I would go down next
Looks fantastic in white
cheers

It's a actually really nice on a run, quite similar to the Scoob in a way but just more refined as you expect for a car that is 50% more expensive!
So far on a long run it is much easier to live with, with all the creature comforts to make the actual drive easier it's the things like the extra sound proofing and the valves in the exhaust that only open when you press the loud pedal, meaning it's quite in the cabin at speed.

Salsa, yes my Mrs keeps saying how it has the same profile as our old hatch.
Cheers Rob, do it, you know you want too, I did think about a BM but they just don't have the road presence that the 45's do, especially after owning a Scoob. Sorry missed you the other night, by the time I got to Carlisle it was gone 6, hit a fair bit of traffic on the way from Aberdeen.

It's quick, using launch control it's quicker than MB state to 60 and has been clocked at 4.1 in standard spec with 0-100 in 10 seconds, with a map 60 is under 4 seconds.
I like this at 2mins 40 secs in where one leaves an Aston Vantage behind.

Nice car. Must be a relief after a 2.5 Impreza!
One in the video looks so pony though, could be a diesel by the look of it. Shame they didn't make more of a distinction between it and the regular models. I know you can get the fandango bits like yours but std they are so similar to a normal a class. Normally you can tell sporty variants of different marques but I honestly can't tell an A45 on the road, until it goes past and I see the badge (obviously if it's std)

Haha, I know all the horror stories about the 2.5 but I've had 3 and all have been faultless, I honestly think you you look after them, don't drive them like you stole them then they can be ok, now that only counts if you owned them from new, either that or I've just be lucky!!
As for the non aero cars looking similar to a normal a class, that is deliberate I think as many merc owners are looking for subtlety something us Impreza owners don't know much about, which is why most on the merc forum who had Scoobs in the past have the aero cars!

Hi Arron.
The A45 looks amazing! That is one piece of art!
Also white ... absolutely brilliant!
I'm sure you'll take care care of it at least as much as you took care of the saloon and it will be one of the finest A45s around ...
I think I will need some valeting training with the saloon ... :P
How much do you charge for that?

Hahaha ... Good! Let me know if you need a hand on washing that lovely A45. Maybe that will drop the charge for the training... LOL
I am enjoying the Saloon starting from Sunday...
It's lovely to drive and everybody loves it!
Thanks!
Now I'll have to spend all my evenings reading and learning from this forum ...
