Smile Just joined tonight - my 2004 Impreza WRX auto

Hello,

I've just joined tonight and have come here to say hello. I'm on my 3rd Subaru now - started with an 03 Foz, then a 55 Outback and now a 2004 JDM Impreza WRX auto:

Pretty rare in auto I have not seen many apart from one in silver on eBay at nearly £6k, and you have bought the best colour
Welcome aboard pal, what's your plans for it?

Yes, hen's teeth comes to mind hence the reason I couldn't walk away when I saw it.

First things are to get it up to the condition I like my cars to be cosmetically. I've already added the spoiler decals and changed all the wiper blades - they were shot. Put a new Bluetooth head unit in as well, with external mic. Replaced the windscreen too, as it has a 5cm crack in I hadn't spotted

It's currently back with the dealer to have rear shocks replaced, brakes stripped down to eliminate sticky piston and he's also putting some new pads in for me.

After that, my current wishlist extends to mudflaps, new interior mats and a bung for the nur spec exhaust.

I could go on with cosmetic stuff forever and a day

First few things I'd like to improve how it drives are upgraded ARB's and to get it re-mapped, along with a better set of rubber (currently running on a set of landsail's). Already has induction kit on so sounds pretty good with the nur spec

Did you actively seek an Auto then? Or choose it because it was rarer?

I actively sought one effectively - well I have been trawling the ads for a while now and had seen two come up previously - a red one last year and a silver one 2 months ago. Went to look at the silver one and it wasn't in good condition.

Then this one came up for sale - I knew as soon as I saw the advert it was going to be the one for me if it was 'right' - a week of knawing my knuckles waiting for the weekend to come and I agreed to buy it after viewing it. Condition was good, mileage low, paperwork stacked up etc etc

Before this I had a 3.0l auto outback which was quite quick really, but this is a bit of a dream car for me. Intend to continually improve it and keep it for a long, long time
