You all must of had cars when you first learnt to drive that you now are ashamed to have owned. the typical nova shed with a 5" exhaust type thing.
So let this thread be a tribute to those **** boxes and that we all now know better, I hope .
shall I start the ball rolling.
I cringe at the sight of this now, believe you me.

If i find it i will post it, It was a Fiat Panda (stop it!) but Had professional Sponsership stickers on and a huge whip mag mount on roof, set of four Cibie oscars and would chew up the outside lane towards all the Rep mobiles of early nineties Cavs and so forth.

look at this bag of ****!!!
it had a whopping 105 bhp and just look at the way i grafted the mk4 bumpers onto the mk3 body, chopped down springs with an angle grinder, chopped out air box to make it sound like it was fast and of course a cherrybomb exhaust to make as much noise as possible
the ultimate boyracers car, makes me shudder to think i thought it was cool.

I still have mine !!!!
1988 Golf GTI 8 Valve with Magnex exhaust, k and n, lowered, 15 inch wheels
Won it in 1988 (daily Mirror), my dad had it for 13 years and gave it me, I am NEVER going to sell it, I have driven loads of stuff and I still love it, will be getting a Scoob or Supra as daily driver and keep the Golf (73 k miles) but do an engine conversion, cant do it at the mo as I need it for work !
I sold my first proper boy racer car, a mint MK1 1.6 GTI to a **** who wrecked it, it was like new, makes me want to cry.

lol, never used that site, sorry. Do I have a soft spot for it? Hell yes, it was a go-kart, but did all things very well, more grip than power, but that power was low down enough to be fun.
Always said I'd have another (VTR) as a project car and slap a GMC supercharger on it, but then I saw the crash tests, scared me silly, very doubtfull I'll ever have another. In '98 they were just a fun small hatch, nowadays there are too many arrogant drivers giving them a bad name, shame really.

I've had lads of ****boxes, but never had any photos. The only one that was a boy racer **** box was my A reg Mini Sprite. It was an orangey red with black bonnet, doors and boot lid, very rare Alcan 10" alloys, Corbeau seats, the smallest steering wheel ever and a cut down gear shift. The engine was a 1430 with Stage 2 head and 1 3/4" SU on a standard exhaust. 0 - 80 is would keep up with a Cavalier GSi 2000, then it ran out of gears Still had the standard drum brakes that used to ignite if used heavily.
Got nicked in Manchester and stripped. Shame I never got chance to finish it

The go faster stripe didn't work, along with the air blower on anything other than "screen" and the black paint never stayed on the bumpers for longer than a week. The stereo had an annoying hum from the altenator, so Nic. called the car "Buzz"...
I still loved the car though. It did good service for me - I got it when I weas 18, and sold it when I was 23.
The sharp eyed among you will spot my Scoob in the background. It was a bit of a step up

fair comment ... though it did have upgraded (!) 14" wheels, Yokohama tyres and a de-badged grill
Maybe ...
An Astra GTE with Stage 1 head, DTM pipes, SPAX suspension and a K&N ?
Sorry if they're all a bit too tasteful ... sadly (!) it wasn't mine and belonged to a friend.
