After lunch, 100 mile tour of the Dales area commences:
Quick pause to pose in the Dales
Then back to pub via traffic lights:
Late arrival all the way from Derbyshire - Glad your trip North was worth it MissyC
Beautiful scenery + fantastic weather + great company = Top Day
Thanks on behalf of all who attended to Ian and Jim for putting in the hard work to make a superb route

Great day out. I was in the Red Astra. The roads were slippy slidey, I found that dried White salt just after lunch the most worrisome. Of course I only have FWD to play with, I think a 4WD system would have been ideal on some of that. I had loads of great moments, mainly lift off oversteering round the tighter bends.
Best bit for me was the "rally stage" towards the end. I was following the two Octavias throughout that, managed to keep up with was fun.
Only scare of the day was down a steep slope close to the photo point. The steering went very light, a bit icey or something, but I reckoned that it'd all come right once I'd hit the bottom.
Once again, another proper driving enthusiasts excursion. Thanks to everyone. Special thanks to Missyc for the drinks.

Hello Mate - I got the floaty feeling too - I just put it down to having took off Thankfully a soft landing on full throttle saved the day
Hairiest moment for me was the decent of that Alpine style hairpin (Slaidburn?) I was tempted to bob on the handbrake but my sensible streak persuaded me not to just as the car locked up - had braked late and heavy and turned in too sharp ...went into reverse lock skid round it and thankfully did not fall off the road would love to see that on video

A great day out on Saturday, thanks to everyone involved.
The EVO will be running next time but still enjoyed playing co-pilot in the 944 S2. John says that if it wasn't for his hangover he would have given the Scooby's a run for there money ;0) (Yeah right John)
Thanks to Tom, if it wasn't for you braking like **** on the crest and nearly running into the back of you we would have lost the sump. We bottomed out as it was.
Quick mention to the Clio boys, can't believe that you didn't hit that wall on that muddy corner from hell straight after the temporary lights and photo stop, and don't tell me it was a controlled tail slide going completely sideways!
Thank for choosing the great roads Ian, and the Skoda's were mighty impressive, let us know when your doing it again.
Cheers Stuart
PS- Shaggy, how many times did you get stopped on the way home :0)

Hiya People..
I was the Clio driver ;-)
glad to hear that a good day was had by all, i really enjoyed myself!
scariest moment for me was in the first section.. took off over a crest, only to land and see a 90deg right hander and a drop off the side.. that was amusing - not!
hope to see the Evo out to play next time tho.
Again thanks to Ian of Briskoda.net for organising a nice day out.. ive yet to attempt to wash my car!
Col G
ps. Stu_M, was only pretending to have a RWD car.. ;-) and you cant say the same thing didnt happen in the 944! (ok, i didnt expect it, but thats half the fun!)
