I saw a post some time back, and reminded me of may cars from times past
My first car 1 MOT failure
A lick of paint jobs a good un
MG1100 engine and rollcage and away we go nice and steady
A little Builth Wells Night rally soon knocked the spots off it

Chaz,
Had it cut very short for the Pic
Bob,
Wondered who'd link the reg to Holmer actually did smart I had a 5 piont flip over release harness, either incorrectly closed it or caught it during the rolls ended up following it down the road on my back worst gravel rash I've had. Navigator had a push button release so stopped in the car but didn't get very far LOL

Steady on m8, give us plenty of warning if you're gonna post your wedding pics - after all, my 25 years is this May, and there's NO WAY I'd be allowed to put Rita's image on Scoobynet
But I lurve those pics from another era - did we have colour photography then?
Matthew
PS I noticed that even all those years ago your spelling was cr*p (showgrond!!!) -still,at least your memory was still intact

I'm old enough to remember the 'golden' days of rallying to. The Ford Escort was a great car and easily converted into a weekend competition car.
Buzzerboy, the Mini looks superb, when did you have it? I've just finished building my 1974 Mini (5 year rebuild) in competition spec, but I'll have to suss out how to upload the pics.

andy,
i competed with the mini about 4-5 years ago,it was the missuses car and i pinched it from her ,changed the engine to a injection 1275cc but fitted a 1 3/4 su instead of the injection,,i got it to a point were i was reported to have a yellowy/blue flame out o the exhaust when i changed gear !!!,,i never seen it myself though,my eyes were to focused on the gravel/tarmac stages.
scary stuff rallying a mini.hehehe
its a pity it needed a re-shell after 6 months,i shook it to pieces ,poor thing.

Tony,
Have you seen the video, 3 Legged Race? 1981,82 & 83. Vatanen in the Rothmans Escort, Jimmy McRae Opel Ascona, Tony Pond Chevette,Mikkola Audi Quattro. Absolutely brilliant and the golden days of British Rallying. The cars just look so spectacular and the noise of the Webers is tremendous. Even better than a Scooby!
Those were the days!

Andy,
Webers and the smell of castrol "R" 6R4's Herefordshire used to be great a rallying breeding ground Theo Bengry, Phil Collins the only ones that come to mind. Awlways wanted a Lotus Sunbeam or an Asconda 200
The red escort was my Cousins running in the Nationals(atfer the big boys) Look at the dink in the roof, he rolled it, We had to tank tape the rear window into the front so he could finnish He still collected £20 for finnishing 3rd in class from a young David Vine
