was that power output on an otherwise standard bug eye? if it was thats quite a huge power rise. What kind of sound does the kit make, and when will it be available?

Wink

Car is totally standard at the moment just about to add an exhaust as well.
When you consider the power generated combined with an exhaust it should generate as much power as a PPP for a lot less money.
Available very soon for general release contact Paul or James at PiperX for details.

Thumbs up

You get some wastegate chatter it was a lot louder without the cold air feed on it.The induction noise without the pipe was pretty loud I wanted nothing but cold air running through it though.

A friend of mine sells Pipercross stuff. If Pipercross list them for your car he can get them.

Dont fit an induction kit on a bug eye or later at all unless you have the ECU re-mapped specifically to cope with the induction kit otherwise the engine WILL run lean and result in major repairs.

All Subaru tuners on here will tell you the same if you ask the question.
I've seen a K+N version on an MY01 and at speed it detted like mad as a result of running lean we then put it back to standard and everything was fine.

Likewise,

I just had fitted a K&N induction kit on a PPP STi8. Had to change it back to the ITG panel filter after three days as it was terible. Can't comment on this new one but do agree that you should consider getting the ECU re-mapped.

Had the kit on for some time now with no issues at all. Had it on the rollers at Superchips just to test it 235bhp and 235lb of torque.
Good gain for very little money.

Ive had a G.Goode K&N induction kit on a bugeye for 15000 miles, along with a forge re-circ dump valve. Not going to tempt fate but you get my drift. What does DET sound like?

Yoza, we had the K+N type on the man who arrests people for a living's car and his was detting like mad at speed. As RRH has said it sounds like metal loose in a tin,we put it back to standard and it was fine.
When some of the guys went to Scoobysport for mapping work they were told not to use an induction kit as it makes the car run too lean, now this can be mapped out but takes additional time for the guy doing the re-program.
Again just becuase somebody sells them doesnt make them safe as they will make more money carrying out your re-build.

Oem is the safest route as these induction kits dont provide any additional power gains unless used in conjunction with a re-map.
