Scoob fairly standard but Charade being rebuilt using my limited knowledge. Engine done need to sort out bodywork, clutch and brakes. Charade should be as quick if not quicker than the Impreza once done.

having driven both i would have to say the charade would need to be modified. evo mag has it at 0-60 in 8 sec and top of 112mph. i have say i think those are conservative figures as the car feels really quick but deffo not as quick as a scoob, either uk or JDM.

the charade i drove for just over 2 weeks as it was borrowed and i drove it intermittently when me and my mates followed the circuit of ireland. no doubt the car feels as if you could take on anything and that engine feels as if it could rev on forever but i have my doubts about it beating a scooby. just my opinion, and what do I know !!

cheers

Sorry yes it would have to be modified ! I bought one as a result of being in a modified one with 157bhp. iIs was amazingly quick , pretty bloody terrifying. It only weight 800kiloes so has a very good power to weight ration.

I don't think the handling is ever going to be great though !

your 157 bhp, how was that done. chipped i assume with prolly some sort of cold air induction kit. at 99bhp they were a phenomenal chuck about motor, but with 157, **** me that must be really scary. wheel spin in 1st, 2nd and third.

cheers

157bhp on my mates car was done with home made induction kit ( filter sock over weber type trumpet ) bypassing the restrictive airbox. Bleed valve to up boost, yes its crude but works. Crankcase breather diverted via a breather filter. Thats it really.

Mates race car that competes in the Toyo tyres series was dynoed at about 150bhp with the same basic mods. We've now got a AFR meter in and are looking ut upping the boost above 15psi. The standard turbo efficiency drops off much above this as it heats the charge too much so we might have to look at moving the intercooler or replacing it with a more efficient design.

A freind of mine has 2 GTtis including 1 of only 2 spyders ever made running full motec , hybrid turbo , ap racing brakes etc and thats pushing 240bhp. At this sort of power the heads don't last long and tend to crack ! Taling about 24-30psi !

Don't know where the pictures have gone by the way !
