I've had it 2 weeks now and it still makes me smile when I look at it.
It's an Australian spec MY00 WRX, I have never seen another colour quite like it, some would say its Red Mica but you have to see it in the flesh to appreciate it.
The condition it is in has nothing to do with me, the previous owner was meticulous with it and looked after it extremely well.
You could eat your dinner off the engine bay.
The perforated leather & red suede interior was custom made.
I thought about removing the tow bar, but I'm going to keep it on for the time being just in case anyone runs in the back of me and also to help with my wife’s reversing (That was a joke Marcis
)
Here are the pics

Dyney,
I'll be at the next Surrey meet for sure, shame I missed last weeks the pics looked like a good turn out.
Ice Man,
The wheels are 17” Night Star’s with Dunlop Formula 101’s 205/45.
If you find out any info on them would you let me know as I wouldn't mind getting some centre caps if there available.
Everyone else,
The tow bar is staying for the time being, it's handy for squeezing into tight spots when reverse parking![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

The towbar is a great idea to leave on IMHO. They are a great weapon against people running into you. Esp when parking etc - as it will leave a lovely hole in their car if they hit you. Unfortunately it is illegal to have them on your car in Germany unless you are actually towing something
But it surely does look nice!! Enjoy it mate!

RE Cheeseboy,
I see where your coming from but unfortunatly it is a bad idea! Cause if someone runs smack into the back at speed you have a major problem!!!!
Lets say the average weight of a scoob is 1200Kg, and this scoob is travelling at 30mph, if my maths is corret, that would impact a stationary object with a force of approx 81 tons! Thats 13 tons more than the weight of a challenger 2 battle tank! Now imagine what that kind of force would do focused on an area the size of a tennis ball, and transfered into the bady of the car! Your talking instant write off most likely!

But if someone hits you at speed, then it will be horrible nomatter what!
But I guess you could be right in that as the tow bar is connected directly to the chassis, the impact would tend to put more stress directly here, and not over a larger area...

Dan,
I am really pleased that you are as chuffed to own this car today, as I was when I drove it out of the showroom a few years back. You will be happy to know that the 'smile factor', never goes away.
Even though I still visit the garage in the vain hope that my current situation is just a terrible nightmare, I take comfort from the fact that I know the 'Scoob' had gone to a very good home & you will take as much pride & care in it as I did when it was once mine (although your vacuming does need some work - there is something on the drivers floor mat in photo 6 ....).
For your own peace of mind, you need not worry about the tow bar in the event of an accident. Just like here in England you have some wacky regulations in regard to vehicle construction & road safety, we have some similar ones at home in Australia.
The towbar is designed, constructed & fastened in such away that a very large impact (say from a "challenger 2 battle tank") would sheer the bolts & or the towbar frame contributing nothing like the damage (to the chassis) that the rest of that load is going to do once it surpasses the tow bar.
I might go one step further and say, with that sort of hit - the chassis is going to be the last thing on your mind .... I would like to know how the dude in the tank is going to explain this to the coppers !!!!
Seriously, yes it does detract from the car a little but the only ones that notice it are either wedged between the car and the wall you just parked against (they should have been looking from further away .....), or in your rear vision mirror so aren't worth worrying about anyway.
Remember, if it does bother you that much you can remove it in less than a minute anyway.
I can honestly say that I am very keen to now go and get another one, I do know though that it will never be quiet a car as this one is.
Enjoy yourself mate, thats what it is all about.
Cheers,
Marcis (the sad ex owner of an AWESOME car ......)
