I have been out doing some filming of MY99. I thought you might like to view it. I have tried to have a little story going along, its not James Bond, but it is better, I think, than just static shots of the car. It is filmed around the top of Rowarth, near Glossop.
I used a sucker mount to stick the DV camera to my car in various places, so you will have to watch the film, and let me know which you feel is the best position!
It is a 16.7 meg file, and is 5 minutes 11 seconds long.
sledgehammer scooby
If you don't like Peter Gabriel, then turn the sound down, it is mostly wind noise anyway!
Any comments or critisims appreciated,
chris
p.s. Any job offers appreciated too!

Thumbs up

Yeah, looks like the exhaust note didn't encode properly.
Cheers nonetheless!

thanks guys, I think I need to fit an extension to my microphone, and leave it in the car, as the wind noise on the moving shots was too much. As for the exhaust note, after 2 attempts at editing the footage, I reckon the sound began to suffer. I was recording in LP mode to get it all on, maybe next time, I should use SP, for better quality.

Speilberg, cool, thanks, I was aiming for that upper middleclass sentimentality, laced with a dollop of hope!
Looks like I hit the mark!

You need to install Real Player (Right click and save as, then run the setup)

If I'm not mistaken - and it's possible with my eyes - the video was shot in widescreen. Any way of making Real Player display correctly?

it is shot in widesceen, and if you work out how to display it properly, let me know. I do that because I usually just hook the dv camera up to the tv.
And yes, I always drive without my numberplate, beats the cameras everytime!
LOL,
chris.

I like it.. nice one..!! shame about the quality of the exhaust sound..

Some ideas :- internal view of the clocks showing speedo and rev counter, view from inside looking over the bonnet and ahead, and perhaps a rear view (looking behind) and maybe one shot of the car dis-appearing into the distance into the sunset..!! well just a few thoughts..!!

Anyway, look forward to your next one..!!

Thanks for the suggestions and comments guys. I think the main problem I have at the mo' is capturing the vid to my hard drive, as it is not really big enough to capture it all in full quality mode, so I have to use preview mode. This is also compounded by the fact that I have filmed in long play.
So I need to get a bigger hard drive, and stop filming in long play, and maybe a new battery!
phew, there goes any mods for the scoobie in the next few months,
chris.
