They do improve throttle response and even if it is imaginery the noise they create is the dogs bo***cks. Nice to see a Numptie on the web even nicer to see him using his wing cover bless him.
Did you eat the rest of your dinner time butty for your tea. Like my mate asked the barman " excuse me mate do you serve cobs" he replied "yes mate we serve anyone here".
Hope the dogy is ok, he really has been to the Scoobyclinic.

That was the biggest cob i have ever seen! I nearly fell off the end of it twice!! Debs took the scoob out for a spin an hour ago she was beaming like a cheshire cat and laughing every time she let off the throttle!

Sorry to spoil your fun, but somehow putting this on will not really bring you "all that lovely power" you are expecting. for one, the air filter is still in the engine bay - hmmmm with all that lovely hot air! (minus gain!)
This could be solved by having the air vent open (but then water flows in when it rains), and you still need a shield between the airfilter and the engine to make it half decent....
But if it makes you happy to have a shiny pipe then great. but a pipe and high flow air filter on a turbo engine will not bring much at all...
Plus you also have no internal damping in the pipe anymore - so your airflow will not be as smooth or as good as the original piping which was designed to take our the "wave motion" of the air as it is sucked into the piping....
<ok gets off stool and goes and does real work>

Yeah but he likes it so leave him alone .
The responsiveness will be better than the original fit Tesco-brand air filter, so that won't be imaginary. It will also breathe a bit easier at the top end, but torque will be actually reduced a little. However, it's all quibbling over a few bhp/lbft so as long as your happy that's the main thing .

Got to be a huge improvement on the oil soaked filthy filter we took off, anyway who said we were promising big BHP.gains ? Adam was simply looking for a bit of induction roar, like we say, what is power without noise? & if it makes you smile its a bonus!

Gaffer, why does it have to be a huge improvement over the oil impregnated filter? if the car wasn't meant to have an oil impregnated filter why did they fit one in the first place????
this is not a dig I would like to know why the air filter has oil in it if it is not necersary.

Right.......since when do you need a big fat turbo strapped to an engine....since when do you need scoops and vents on the bonnet.......since when do you need dirty great big spot lamps on your bumper.....since when do you need round fat tail pipes.....since when do you need expensive cd/dvd/mp3 players in the cabin.....since when do you need momo steering wheels....
GETTING THE IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!!
we all might as well run around in nissan micra`s because there is no need to have cartoon cars like the scooby or the evo`s
We own these cars BECAUSE WE WANT TOO!!!!!!!!!!
and we mod these cars BECAUSE WE WANT TOO!!!!!!!!!!!!
no matter whether some WALLY say`s oooooohhhhh you only get 0.0000567% increase when you do that....or `the coefficiency of you zenon diode is compromised by that dopler valve you have fitted..
anyone who disagrees might as well sell their scooby and buy a
SENSIBLE car!!!
anyway, looks good Specialx well done!!!!!!!!!!!!

Seems to me there`s a lot of **** spoke on here, if Adam wants a Induction Kit thats up to him it`s his car, I`ve got one on mine and it definately improved throttle response and performance. Ask anyone who`s had one fitted. good on ya Adam enjoy it. See you Tuesday Dan, I`ll bring you back your Hard drive.

Hey, easy guys Cheeseyboy makes some valid points, but I think he did miss the essence of this post, which was "I put this on now it feels better and sounds great!" .

bang on Hero, all I was doing was finishing off a great day out by showing my fellow scoobynetters what I'd had done. no talk of power gains just being a boy racer and getting more noise!! it seems that other peoples opinions may differ but cheesyboy was a tad patronising and as you said missed the point, and anyway he did not see the custom made carbon fibre induction fan unit that has been mounted on the front bumper with an independantly switched 540 electric motor and mini aircon unit that pushes cold air into a kevlar jacket that surrounds the cone at exactly 1 degree! lol now I am talkin b*ll*x but i suppose the whole point of scoobynet is to discuss fors & agains, and I did find cheeses comments amusing and could obviously tell he doesn't like induction kits!
so thanks Cheese for telling me what I already knew and please don't take offence if people have a pop you when you try and belittle someone elses mod. X

Nice one lads,
I wonder why all the rally cars I deal with have pipercross or K and N filters? Maybe I should suggest they revert back to the standard air box complete with Tescos filter or simply stick a nice
treacle soaked sock in it, now theres a thought!

K&N filter, not K and N as the wife has typed it. Thought I had better put this right before cheesey boy points out my mistake and sends us a graph to illustrate the loss of air flow between the space in K... and ...N.

specialx, sorry mate, I wasnt trying to have a dig - I am very much a car and rally enthusiast, I also am keen on extracting all that I would like to from my car - however, I do laugh at the claimed bonuses that certain tuning firms claim, and laugh even harder at the prices you UK boys (and girls) are willing to pay for such toys (without really knowing what they do, what effects they have and what negative side-effects that they bring along with them).
I am sorry if I upset anyone, offended or was seen to bewittling anyone. I take my words back and now replace them with:
"specialx, nice bit o´ kit mate and lovely FMIC keep up the nice work!"

I found my sock worked better with Gale's Honey rather than Treacle - anyone suggest any reasons why?
Also I don't use a Man Utd sock any more as parts of it kept leaving and going to other places; the red dye was washing out and colouring my exhaust flames red and the performance was all over the place, with nothing happening until exactly 92 mins after I start driving, when it finally gets off the mark .
On a more serious note, I think they use K&N induction kits on the rally cars because filtering out every last teensy particle is not the most important thing, whereas for a road car with a warranty and 100,000+ mile expectation, it may be a priority...
