MY03 STi specC - pic update
I've posted pics previously of my white beast. Now it's had the STi rear wing fitted and wing mirrors/fixing plates colour coded, here are some more as promised.
The remaining external mods (if you're interested) are:
- white mud flaps (having washed the car today I really WANT them)
- pink 'i' badge
- driving lights (not fogs)
Initially I didn't like the front and rear JDM splitters that came on the car, but now the car looks more balanced, and I've had time to get used to them, I'm going to leave them on (plus lots of overwhelming thumbs up from you lot). I still prefer the look of the STi front corner additions on the regular STi, and the rear skirts can make the car look a bit 'fat arsed' from certain angles (and perhaps a bit Gran Turismo for my tastes), but what the heck, these items are rare on cars in the UK being JDM items.
Thanks to DRMotorsport for the STi copy wing, and to Scoobylinic for fitting it and colour coding the wing mirrors, in particular Kev and Adam who were most helpful and accommodating.
Please excuse the high number of pics, tried similar shots from various angles/lighting and with the roof vent flap open and not open. Most are left un-corrected for the casts caused by a low sun, but I think it looks quite warm on a white car.
Things to note:
- STi GeNome exhaust & gauges (rebadged Defi)
- the infamous RE070 (probably selling them next week in favour of F1s!)
- the lightweight magnesium BBS alloys
- the rear water tank in the stripped out boot
- rear wing being fitted at Scoobyclinic (at the end)

Do they seriously leave out the boot carpet for weight saving, then put a (12 litre ?) water bottle in there ?
That's 1kg per litre, just don't fill it as full
Nice one, if I ever see you in my rear-view I shall gracefully indicate left!

hi can I ask a question??
its not a dig at all.
but...
im guessing you will not be racing this car?
so what does it matter how light your wheels are in favour of it looking better?
it looks the bo11ox now imho.
and presumably it goes like stink.........
just a thought?

Haven't asked about the WRX but I assume its similar
My Dealer didn't want to sell me one saying the residuals woud not be good
Sod that, its a company car I pay enough tax to worry about residuals
