Default More Carbon than you can shake a stick at

After 2 days of battling with the kit the front end is finally on. Just got the skirts and rear end to do now and it should be looking a little healthier

dpb yes the bumper is carbon..... what a nightmare though was 2 inches too wide so I had to mod the arches to meet it I have skirts, rear bumper and spoiler still to go on it.

Micky my doctor says im improving anyway my doors and arches are still metal lol though I am having thoughts about them

Hmm very interesting, anymore shots? need to see the whole car before I make judgment lookin good from this angle.
btw How easy is Carbon fibre to clean polish etc? Does it show up scrathes / stone chips easier with it being a high glass finish?

Only my opinion of course, but that looks horrific why on gods earth would you want your car to look unpainted is beyond me.

That is going too far with the carbon, bonnets alone look crap and with the bumper done also, it looks like an unfinished car, if you know what i mean, like cars you see with primer on the wings halfway between a job.

Fulham 71 used a carbon bonnet on his silver MY01 and painted it in his own style which did improve the all black appearance, you need some colour on the front.

lol at Zippy!

It doesnt look unpainted - its carbon?

Bonnets look crap? what bonnets have you seen that looks crap? Ive seen some poor quality ones but ive also seen some very good ones.

I dont think Siwrx has showed the rest of the car cause its unfinished. He still has many carbon products going on and will be a near carbon car when finished.

Zippy, maybe he is justbored with everyone doing the same thing. Lets get a replica p1 splitter, lets facelift my car, lets get a big spoiler which has no real purpose. Just trying something different and to be original and not follow the crowd.

Scoobs are so common these days and even at shows/events, everyone has the same looking scoob. Its good to see someone trying something different.

No one can really judge it yet as its not finished yet. When the finished product is done, then it will be interesting to see what people think but i suspect it will be the same as TSL's car. SOmething different which is great for advertising, but a few people dont like it cause its different and isnt following the "Scooby" crowd.

All just my view of course

CustomScooby I thought i'd swap my seats for 1.6gl ones because i just love the adjustable headrests lol nah looking at composite seats for it atm mate.

D6ale as Ceedee has correctly stated it is a cwest kit (theV3-4 one to be precise). They are available in fibreglass from cwest. I think the url is www.c-west.co.jp, though i'm sure some companies import the kits.

Doc Money has hit the nail on the head the car is by no means anywhere near finished. Got a carbon boot on it atm but the rear bumper, skirts and spoiler are all still to go on. Also considering arches for it and a roof skin, but haven't gotten that far yet

Zippy the weight saved by having no paint will counterbalance the huge dice I have hanging from my rear view mirror

rb5037 the ones on there at the mo are sprayed black. However, got a set of crystals to swap them for soon.

I'm glad some people on here understand that ' i dont hold back ' when giving my opinion, remember ' one mans meat is another mans poison ' if the owner is happy then happy days all round.

Just because i wouldnt park it anywhere near my drive or be seen in it, doesnt mean its ' that bad ' , well alright it is.LOL.

Anyway Money, too much carbon is like too much Gold on a Salford teenager 'TACKY'. Only my opinion of course.

Love you all.

Zippy

lol at that car - looks like a taxi in Luton!

Unpainted carbon is the burberry check of cars. Expensive, yes........looks crap, yes!

However, if it were painted I would approve, afterall its a fantastic weight saving for track days etc. Will it ever see a track day?

ROTFLMAO

Image doctor - depends on what carbon you get if it is massive weight saving. Dry carbon big weight saving, wet lay = not really

Personally as money knows Im not a massive fan of the Carbon look and I would personally paint it.

Still Siwrx is happy with it and I'm sure its gonna take the shows by storm. Top job Si

Ceedee i asked a company to custom make it for me late last year as a prototype. It is a copy of the cwest kit. However, I think they used a glassfibre copy which wasn't accurate hence the trouble fitting the kit. I'm not sure if they will ever make any more they sounded disappointed when I told them it took 10 hours at a pro bodyshop to get it mounted right. Weren't you the guy from croatia who sold that really nice three guage carbon pod for the pre96 impreza?

As far as track days and painting it goes no chance . I hardly use the car and its just a toy that I decided I would try and turn into a cover car. Its meant to be extreme so I am being really silly when it comes to things like how much carbon to add. Also a couple of my mates are using it as a company demonstrator so i'm giving them pretty much free reign on tuning and modifying it (though carbon is my fault I bought a bonnet and just got a little carried away) Tempted to buy another jap car as an everyday vehicle.

Though in fairness I quite like the car in Carbon and I can't say i'd associate things like the HKS IS300 and Evo 7 with burberry baseball caps. They were all carbon after all and unpainted.
