Default Stix's WRX

My new ride, well 5 weeks ago but haven't posted piccies before.

Not my plate btw, private plate of previous owner since put back to normal.

Before anyone says anything about the Lexus lights, I think they look ok!

front showing crystal indicators, sti style grill and diff splitter (not sure which).

rear showing lexus lights, Sti V5 spoiler, colour coded sills, debadge and ninja backbox (just see it! Everyone in a 100yd radius knows it there )

I knew someone would comment on the lexus lights!!

I personally think that combined with the colour coding, clear indicators, newer wheels and spoiler that they have helped 'modernise' the car. On other colour cars e.g. red (especially red bloody corsas!!) then I agree.

It is 10 years old now, but you would never know it. I have had a couple of people ask how old it is, even though its now on an 'M' plate - they thought it was a lot newer and that the plate was a private one. This however could be due to the fact that the car is absolutely pristine, not even a stone-chip.

Since I have had it a lot of people have commented on the size of the exhaust and spoiler. F***k em - they are staying! I love the exhaust note and the spoiler has grown on me (not literally, although you never know).

I am also gradually getting used to the number of people who just stare at the car - especially anyone under the age of 20. Certainly not the car to hide away in

Thumbs up

Would agree, it looks alot younger than 10 years old.

The lights look ok but prefer the original Sti clear clusters myself.

Spot on mate. Dan kept it well, haven't done anything to it yet apart from buy lots of Optimax.

I quite like the lights. I was contemplating changing the spoiler but thats staying now.

Clear fog lights? Didn't realise they had been changed?

Scoobyp1, you know the car well? Did you help him with mods etc. or seen it in meets?

Me and Dan used to go to a lot of the car shows together. Doncaster, Max Power, Trax.
Dan had wanted a scooby for a while after seeing firstly my UK turbo and then my P1. He used to have a mint R5.
I remember when he first had the silver one..... Loooked a nice motor
Since then obviously he has added his own little touches and his father owning a body shop helps a lot...
The styling had nothing to do with me as i moved away from the cruise scene before he bought it.
One thing you havent got to worry about with that car thou mate is that it aint never been ragged in Dan's hands. I dont think i have ever seen him drive fast, dont know if he can.
Personally, i think u have bought one of the better 2nd hand Scoobs that are about. I cant say what sort of life it had before Dan but while he owned it, well it was probably cleaned and polished every week. Dan is a boy racer through and through thou and that will explain some of the styling choices

Thanks for that, you have confirmed what I already thought really about the way that he had looked after it and driven it. He mentioned that he was getting about 70 miles to a tenner of Optimax, whereas I get about 50 if I'm lucky! So I think its fair to say that he didn't screw it.

Didn't realise his old man owned a body shop - the bodywork for its age is near enough immaculate, so that could be why.

Thanks,

Ian.

The Front lip is a Jun Style lip.
Jun lip at DR motorsports

I had one on my car but beacuse it sits two inches lower than a standard bumper it got damaged on the speed bumps and I hit a kerb , still the car is lowerd so that doesn't help, have since swapped to a P1 style as its not as low as the JUN.

Ah, cheers mate - yup thats the boy. I'm ok as car not lowered on standard MY00 16s, so speed bumps not a prob.
