New alloys....WTF?

New alloys....WTF?
Somebody, somewhere, must have the answer! Mica red classic 4 door, MY00, trying to find a set of alloys that I won't regret buying, it's driving me mad. Every time I see something I think I can live with, I find a reason to change my mind. Possibles so far : Techmagnesio Indianapolis, BK299, Arospeed RSGT in gunmetal, Prodrive PD7, Mania Vortex, the bloody list just goes on and on. And, as if that isn't enough, I,ve still got to choose a colour, for Christs sake! Polished rim or flush, flat face? The size is the only thing I've really decided on, 17" for decent ride/cost compromise. Any input, especially pics, appreciated more than you'll ever know, if the advice is good, it'll probably save me from the funny farm! Really like the look of the "Impreza from across the pond" further back in the members gallery that everyone raved about, however the price of those alloys are a tad intimidating. I'd be interested to hear about anything similar at sensible money.

Sorry, don't mean to have gone quiet, still looking! Local scoob dealer just offered me some gold 17" PD7s at £665 for 4. Is that a reasonable price?
Much nicer, deeper shade of gold than the standard 6 spokes on the car at the mo. Kind of have a soft spot for gold alloys on a mica red classic, willing to admit that it might be my own personal sickness though!
Heard about the issues with the arospeeds, thanks for confirming that, and I agree that the size of the BK299s is something to consider. Cheers for everthing so far, no need to stop now, just keep piling on the pics!

I have the Pd7s at the moment in gold on my mica red my00 - think I'm going to get them done in antracite, but I guess you pays yer money...
Cheers
Pete
(btw If that quote is for rims and tyres please could you let me know)

Cheers for that, supersarbs. Nelson, tbh, yours is what got me started thinking about PD7s in the first place, yeah, have to agree, they suit yours very well. Iirc, yours is on slightly lowered suspension (?), just wondering if they'd look o.k. on a standard one, or whether big arch gaps would spoil it?

Yeah, i'm almost decided on these, tbh. Anybody know if there's a better deal than £665 for 4 PD7s ( 17" ) on the go anywhere? I'm looking at over a grand for wheels and tyres as things stand, ( goodyears ).

Keep an eye out on Ebay - cos there are lots of sets of wheels for sale on there and I'm sure just a month ago there was a set of PD7's in Gold that went for £425 - and they were new

Cheers for that Nelson, I'd be well chuffed with a set for that. Noticed that TSL are selling cheap speedlines, they've got chronos' which I'm not fussed on, and another style with six solid spokes, which I do quite like, but don't know the name of. Saw the ad in one of the jap car mags and rang up to enquire, but, unfortunately, Paul's on holiday, and it's him they reckon I'll need to speak to. Do all speedlines come in the same shade of gold?

Have just bought a set of Anthracite PD7s for my Mica red wagon turbo and they look the dog's. Will send you some pics later if you want them. BTW I bought them s/h but brand new in the boxes for £520, the guy bought them and never fitted them, said he paid £590 from Cheam motors, they may be worth a try.

Nelson, thanks for your help mate, those 6 spoke wheels in your pic are the same as TSLs that I was trying to describe, TSL want £469 per set which seems eminently reasonable, might go with these if some PD7s don't turn up. Must say, like the prodrive logo on the 7s, don't think you can get that on the 6 spokes. P.S. can see why you wouldn't be biased at all, Nelson!
