Only thing with a through bonnet is the layout of the Scooby engine doesn't look startling.

BMW used to do see through paint jobs on their show cars years ago, check with google for BMW Car art, they are quite impressive,

You'd have to have a mega clean engine anyway, so I would probably hide the alarm unit elsewhere. Very good point, though.
