My main reason for disliking the lexus lights is that they look very cheap, the sort of thing you put on novas and saxos. Its only my opinion. Its like marmite, either you love em or you hate em.Definately go for the STi red/clear rears much better looking package all round

Clare,
Welcome aboard. With regard to the rear lights, when the Lexus style lights first became popular you could get them with a smoked, darkened reflector which, IMO, looks restrained, bespoke and very classy.
The newer breed of Lexus style lights all seem to use a bright silver reflector, which, on some designs, does look seriously tacky. I agree with the comments that the orginal red and white rear lights are looking better than the newer lexus style.
I have a set of the smoked lexus style rears on my car, however the site that hosts pics of my car no longer seems to be available.
At the end of the day its your choice. My suggestion would be that you look around and see what these lights look like in the metal/plastic on a car before making up your mind and spending your hard earned cash.
Once again, welcome to Scooby ownership. Enjoy your car.
Regards,
WB
