Back to your original question the manual does say to put the antenna on the rear shelf and it does have a long cable

When the B2 is used with the LRC100, do you just plug the LRC100 into the B2 without using the (switch, led, sounder) bits that come with the LRC....

you really want to fit the unit at Eye Level.. so you can see it easily. i find i look at mine now all the time to see what speed i'm doing.. as it more accurate than the speedo (about 4mph out)

Haven't got any pics at the moment, but mine is situated on the top of the dash to the right-hand-side of the speedo-dome-thing ( ) with the antenna on the rear shelf and the laser detector above the rear-view mirror with a clear view front and rear.

Easy to see without taking my eyes off the road and I find I tend to use the GPS speedo more than the proper one now

Ive stuck it down for now, but ordered a mount to fit it higher up £23.44...

This can be fit either side of the radio then just bolt the b2 cradle to it.

That's strange BAH as i have mine in the same place and i have no problems with it, it might be that mine is a little bit more upright that yours, other than that mines working fine.

Looking at you pics yours is laid further back than mine, ive adjust mine so when i lay it back it wedges just under the bottom edge of the ashtray and has cured the problem as the ashtray keeps the pressure betwean the B2 and the cradle constant.

A few people have had the same problem i think

Bryan, it shouldn't be necessary to wedge it in. I have to go to Penrith next week all being well, I could meet you on the way and we could try a different cradle/b2 if you like.

I think i read somewhere that a blob of bluetac on the cradle holds the unit in place.

The unit and the cradle have magnets in, which are fairly strong but just seams to be something stopping it sitting right down.

Did you undo the cradle to change the direct of the cable ... if so did you put the magnets in the right way ??

ahhh .. the magnets can flick themselves over as they attracted to the one of the other side ... if it fells like there is a resistance when putting it in then you might have ... try holdthe b2 at 90 degrees to the unit and see if each side attracts

Default Dashmount Bracket mod

Hi BAH,

I already had the dashmount bracket with the phone on it. If you install it on the left, you lose the cup holder so mine's on the right. I added a little extension bracket to mount the origin...

I didn't know about the magnets but mine kept getting bounced out so I went the blu-tac route

Here are some (crappy night/flash) pictures of the install...

It was only a temporary install with wires stuffed into gaps, but it's stayed that way since Xmas I had to install a big ferrite collar around the 12v feed to stop laser false alarms but other than that it's been fine. Power is fed from a 4way 12v adapter behind the dash just plugged into the cig lighter (pending a future solder/scotch-lock to the supply behind the socket)

I'm off to look for magnets now

I had loads of trouble with my B2 when I first got it losing signal etc, was all down to the bottom of the case not being flat ( one edge slightly overlapped the other ). It was so bad that when I updated the unit I had to hold the lead in to it. I sorted it by using a sanding block to level it off.

When I went with my Dad to get one for him a few weeks later I checked his and there was no overlap, I mentioned it to the lady who replied that she thought there may have been a faulty batch of cases as she had a number of complaints.
