ahh home... Nice pics.

I think most tourists tend to see that sign of the gradient for Wrynose & Hardknott and turn around! Once passed an old dear driving a Lancia Y10 coming over there with 3 suitcases on a roof-rack!

...and why is it that it's always the cars driving up that have to pull in to let oncoming cars pass?

I know that road very well. awesome scenery up in the lakes...love it

Yep...Had a walk around them, must have been quite impressive in its day!
