Cool went for a drive in my new toy today

Got up this morning, and it was'nt raining

So off came the hood and i headed off up to the peak district for 130 miles of b road fun

I have only just picked up the car this weekend and the roads were damp and there was frost in the shaded areas, so i took it nice and easy.

Its a whole new experience driving with the roof down though

I even managed to take a few piccies to bore you with

greg.g: That’s a lovely looking motor; do they make that in a XXL size that would fit me?

I sat in a VX220 and the only thing that went through my mind was, would the fire brigade be able to open the show room doors far enough to get the cutting gear in to release me.

Not a fat bloke’s car!

How's the performance compared to the old Scoob? Bet it sticks well

Nice piccies, where abouts in the Peak district did you go? Cannot work it out from the piccies

What do you think of the Elise going from the scoob?
Keep on promising myself one but keep talking myself out of it, especially after the snow last week!

Got more of an excuse to buy one now as th wife has just got a new car (schemes)

Welcome to the Lotus gang greg, I traded in my STI V for a S1 Exige. I have to admit
I do miss the power of the scoob but the handling of these pocket monsters makes
up for that

My first thoughts power wise was there was not much there.
My scooby was putting out 275bhp and now i am down to 143bhp.
But...
Once i started to get used to it a bit, there is not that much difference.
There is not the surge that i got in the scooby when the turbo cuts in, but a more gradual power curve. Its got vvt, but it is not just at the top end.
I think the most noticable difference is the lack of the flat four burble
The elise has got a ss sports exhaust and k&n filter, but its more like a hairdryer on steroids
I have been taken out on track in one of these, so i know what the handling is capable of
I plan on doing a 1st lotus course in the new year to teach me how to drive it properly.

The piccies were taken above the village of Ilam. In the background you can see the start of Dove dale.

Ajax
Like you say.... getting in is not the problem

Thumbs up

Looks good, remove the rear window to get more heat

I used my Elise every day for 2 months, 100 mile commute, ended up buying a 2nd car for 2K all in inc Insurance, Elise is only used as a fun car, all the better for it.

as much as I thought I'd never say this I think they are quite smart cars now..

after going in one the other week with a civic type R 2.0L and 6 speed with remap pushing over 200bhp, shifted like a bitch!
