It's a 1.6 zetec, a milion miles from a scoob but equally far away from the Fiesta I upgraded from
It's quite nippy given the engine size but the handling is awesome, in this I can waft over bumps which in the Fiesta would have shattered my spine, everybody should have one

Thanks ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
We thought the 1.6 would be a bit pants so looked for a 1.8 or 2.0, we actually went to see a 2.0 but it was that crap we didn't get as far as the test drive! After driving the 1.6 we thought nads to it, cheap tax here we come! (low emisions)![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)
Neil, we named it Fred, in memory of Fred Dibnah, we 're hoping his mechanical sympathy will descend from heaven and watch over the car![Cool](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/cool.gif)

They are surprisingly nippy and really nice to drive but what really does it for me is the cheap insurance, cheap fuel costs, cheap road tax, cheap parts, cheap mods and the heated front screen

Thanks guys ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Just done a rough calculation and it's doing 33 - 35 mpg ish and I haven't been as easy on the gas as I could![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
As Sal says it's actually quite nippy, ok it's not gonna set any speed records but we knew that when we bought it! I'm sooo feeling the comfy, quiet ride though and the heated screens, my god, how cool are they! I jumped in this morning, it was that frosty the door was stuck shut but a minute after firing up the screens were frost free and off I went

Ours doesnt have the climate pack unfortunately, so no heated screen
It still demists fairly quick though. I have to book an apointment with the 2 Pugs to get their screens cleared, usually a day in advance

So Simon, when are you going to de-tango yours? ![Wink](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/wink.gif)
I can't believe how cheap the clear indicators and side repeaters were, I think they came to around 25 quid, at least that's what Bob told me...![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
He also bought the upgrade map reading interior light thingy, that was about 40 squid I think.

Well its Sarah's, so not sure if mods are allowed. She did mention she wanted bigger alloys though (18's), but i'd have to pay for them ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)
Where did you get the clears from, Ford?

We found the best source for clear lenses for fit/price etc to be genuine Ford parts - get the ST170 clear side repeaters and orange bulbs for approx £12 and the RS front indicators - £35 ish - if you opt for the RS frons you will require mondeo bulb holders as the fit is slightly different (only a couple quid each)

DW, you need clear indicators
I got them from ebay, if I'd known you could get them off Ford I would've gone there given my contacts! ![Roll Eyes (Sarcastic)](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/rolleyes.gif)

Steve, your missus's car looks just right, really nice. The genuine Ford clear indicators look better than our cheap Ebay ones but they'll do for the time being I suppose

Bob, the spoiler was from ESP and is from the Ultima body kit range. Doesnt look as though it is available anymore:

Dont think any other mods are planned as we put a tail-pipe trim on since the pics were taken instead of going down the uprated exhaust route..... the Eibach springs are available through Ford dealers as well and were £80 to fit in the rapid fit bay.......
