i thought id try some jap style square plates on the car as the plate has just been changed. I wasnt sure if they would look right, but i like them, gives it that bit of jap look to the car

The Japanese plates are smaller than you have there and also a lot are in a frame mounting. Having said that, your plates look very good and much better than the UK (longer rectangle) type.
BTW your car is very, very nice indeed.

Could you not have legal size letters but cut the plate down to as small as possible around them ?? with it being an import you can have jap size lettering as far as I understand it, that is smaller than ours.
Not sure of the legal requirment for plate sizes here ??
What's the wheels.... size.... any more pics of those ?

Yeah I wasnt too sure how they would look to be honest. My mate owns a sign making company so I just asked him to make some JDM style plates up for me. Any narrower though and the bits behind the plates which they stick to will come into show and might not look right, if you get me?
the wheels are team dynamic diablos 18" i need a new one tho as one is buckled

I went for a square plate for the front of my 05 STi, think it looks better than the standard ones. Standard plate on the rear though.
Anyone else went for the square front plate for the new age STi's??

although looking at the pic it looks like its to the bottom of the bumper but it isnt at all, there is quite a gap underneath

had a square plate on the front of my last scoob, marked the front splitter quite badly by the wind pushing it onto it and rubbing it.
I have a custom square back one to fit my jdm cradle

I need new plates - anyone put a square one on the front that's fixed next to the N/S foglamp rather than in the centre?

Not exactly what I was thinking TBH - I meant NEXT to the foglamp rather than instead of - plate fixed to the vertical member.
might try a photoshop jobbie later...
