It's not my fukcing DAY!!!!!
First I nearly kill myself after losing all my brake fluid from a 2nd hand set of brakes bought off a member here - that's another story... then, I take car to Kwikfit to check if hoses are ok or whether it's worse and they tell me the bit I don't want to hear, that the piston seals are probably perished or the channels are malaligned.... anyway, to tell me this they popped it up on the ramp - I thought it was odd when he initially entered the ramp and stopped... his colleague looked at him and they both moved two large metal strips off of the ramp....
Anyway, got home and found this!
I called the garage and he tried to wriggle out of it saying they were doing me a favour - basically he said before they started they don't touch non-standard car parts but would look at it to give me an idea of what was wrong. They didn't charge me either. I'm not fukcing suprised they didn't charge me

Soulgirl, you have a technical Criminal Damage there. If a person damages or destroys property belonging to another, intending to cause the damage OR being RECKLESS as to wether the damage is caused then they commit the offence.
Ring them and tell them you are calling Plod to report it unless they sort it,if they don't sort it then ring Plod.

Yes, I called him to advise him which is when he started stuttering about doing me a favour.
I said I would call in tomorrow after work to show them.

I'm really upset now
I have worked my butt off for the last 10 months and I now have a dysfunctional set of brakes and a broken splitter! That's £800 down the drain straight off!
Out with the small claims court paraphernalia

Karen, why not take it to Triton?
Lesson learned, better off letting a 5 year old drive your car up a ramp than let those muppets near it.

Because Triton was quit a way away and they wouldn't have looked at it there and then and the juice was pissin out.
I thought to myself, what harm can they do, just removing a wheel and looking at the calliper. The lads down at the Ringwood Road branch are a great bunch of blokes and are always careful etc. I guess he just didn't realise how low splitters are?

What a bunch of incompetent muppets! As for touching non standard car parts, umm, since when are brakes and brake lines non-standard?
They are just trying to wriggle out of the fact that they have damaged your car and are hoping you would not notice it, or would just "go away", which isn't going to happen.
I'd certainly pop back in, show them the damage, and point out to them how much it will cost them *now* to repair it, as opposed to how much it'll cost them if they don't rectify this situation immediatly. Amazing what a mention of severe bad publicity will do.
Hope you get satisfaction out of this bunch of muppets

Karen,
Just a quick thought, seeing as you know which ramp it went onto, it might be worth getting your camera out and seeing if you can find any of your paint on or near the ramp.....
Just a thought like i say...
Please drive very carefully on the way over to me tomorrow, also, check the brake fluid before you leave home..........you had the spare fluid back didn't you??
Ron.....

I'm not sure how repairable it is... it's cracked right the way under the spliter and overlapping... I will speak with them tomorrow and offer to first see if it can be repaired and sprayed, if not they can pay the replacement cost of about £250 I guess.

No Paul, I'm not LOL. Still, onward and upward. I am employing Rons expertise this afternoon to swap my old brakes back on, and the manager at kwikfit has agreed to pay for the repair of my splitter so all's good now

Thanks you lot... just the disagreement with the brakes I bought now. Having been told they had only covered 3000 miles I assumed they were in perfect working order - however, the discs are warped and one of the callipers had a leak from within that nearly caused my death! I was lead to believe they were functional...
Anyhow, this is not an arguement for the scoobynet collective; moreso one for Him, I and the Small Claims Court
Dont worry, and enjoy the huge stopping power!

Just to say a good body shop with experience of working with GRP should have that straight in no time. My dad drove mine into a kerb the week before the NBO (and mine's a S13 200sx so it's really low compared with a Scoob.) A good friend of mine had it glassed and painted the Friday before the show (and mine's an irridescent colour.)
Even the few people who had seen the damage before couldn't tell which side had been fixed
