No it´s just for you reach the tunnel you drive under it´s just for trucks and etc..

Nice pics. Looks like the roads have improved since I was there. I drove on Highway 1 around Iceland and the vast majority was gravel

Got stopped for speeding by a Icelandic cop with big tattoos on his arms. He was driving towards me in a Nissan Patrol and got me with forward facing radar. Not many towns where I got stopped, he was probably the only copper for about 200km. For location he wrote down the grid reference from his sat nav system!
