Default South African JDM 97 WRX (WHite Classic)

Thought I'd introduce myslef. I live in South Africa and have just imported this 97 WRX from Japan. All I was told was that there were a few after-market parts, well here they are.

17" Speedline Rims (RB5 rims)
Tein Sports Spec, Driving Master Type HA
Exhaust, (not sure what it is)
HKS Turbo Timer,
STI Strut Brace,
Other than these few extras it's standard. I upgraded from an RX (naturally aspirated 2.0)
I have ordered a STI6 rear spiler and a STI4 front splitter which I expect to arrive this week.

Very clean looking car

Personally i would not bother with the STi 6 wing but it's your car

Exhaust looks like a HKS hiper muffler to me.

Thanks for the comments. The plates are actually from Zimbabwe, I have to own the car registered in Zim for six months then I can clear it here. To cut a long story short, I'm trying to import it as an immigrant. The reason I could not import it to SA is that second hand imports would flood the local market, so imports are not allowed here.

Hiya
Hello and welcome fellow South African, please tell me about the process to register and import it officially ?

I am Joburg based and often work on the imports from Zim and Botswana but I havent found a loophole to secure myself one

To give the normal UK guys an idea a Classic Impreza turbo with 150k km on the clock and patchy history will fetch about 13 500 GBP to 15 000 GBP, the imports are to be had with less than half that mileage and already half modded for less than 3 000 GBP, hence why South African has such protectionist laws against the, but we ust pay the highest prices in the world for Classic Imprezas !

Thanks for the comments. The tree is a Baobab tree. They're pretty unique and make the pic look great. I'm expecting the spoilers later this week maybe beginning of next week because of the X-mas holiday, so I'll put pics up as soon as its done.

3barboost importing a second hand vehicle to SA is almost impossible. I have my fingers crossed that it all works out for me. I immigrated to SA from Zim about 2 years ago and I got SA residency, so I can import the car as an immigrant. I just have to own the car in Zim for 6months then I can register it duty free in SA (I hope). I'm studying import export so contacted all the relevant authorities, SABS, Customs etc... and they all said I should be able to do it without any problems.

I have only owned the car for about a month now, so I'll let you know once I've tried to register it here in 5 months time.
