Finally the new scoop came and mounted with the new diy scoopplate.

Does somebody now

Do i have to close the 2 small intakes above the turbo or leave them open

Some people in Holland say close them,the warmer the turbo the better the turbo is performing

I'm sure the turbo has an optimal operating temperature, which is bound to be high anyway, as it is directly connected to the exhaust.

However, the colder you can get the inlet air, the better, as cold air is denser, allowing you to squeeze more air and fuel into the cylinders which = more power

so definately keep the vanes there, it maybe won't be that boticeable but should in theory give power gains!

I will keep the scoopplate as it is for now.

My link ecu is coming in and now i'm thinking about a fmic kit also because in my opinion this should look really great on the car.

Thats not going to happen (my wife is standing behind me ),i have one with the kids and car (they cant argue with dad yet )

Not as much as in the UK on Subaruclub Nederland there are over 3.000 registered users and not all of them drive subaru

A few years ago there was a world record @ a jap car festival in Assen with 333 impreza's but that year they had @ the NBO over 400 i believe

Thank you.

About 4 weeks ago we where planning to mount and map the link ecu and the TD 05 but that went from bad to worse

The mounting of everything went fine but when we started mapping the turbo went dead within 20KM with alot of smoke so we called it the day,so i went home with a smoking Stars 25 GL with 125 HP insted of 300+

Last week i mounted a other TD 05 myself and today i could come to David for mapping the link.

Everything went very well and i drove home with a very safe 300 to 320 HP and a big

I also got my Apexi avc-r in from maffa

I also got myself a STI inlet manifold for refurbishing a new grilbadge and a Magnecor KV85 spark plug cable set so i have lots of work ahead of me.

And some more updates.

Last week the car came through MOT with no problems @ all

And on saterday we changed the timing belt and the rollers (exept the tension roller) on the car.

Before the MOT i changed the Magnex for a Supersprint backbox to try how it sounds and its an all open backbox.
I'm driving with it for a week now but man that one silent backbox if i dont like it the Magnex will go back (sorry for the missis) .

Also got rid of the morette lights because one them was broken,now i'll have to find new ones because i think i liked them more then the oem lights

Here are some off the new updates that are laying around in the shed.

Aloy STI wishbones with Powerflex bushes;

Powerflex steeringrack bushes.

Exhaust manifold i believe from a STI R/RA MY'93 met EGT meter;

Also i'm trying to create some P1 covers (there hard to find) to let cool air go to the airfilter;

Over to the next reply i can't get more pics in here

Made up a bracket for the AVC-R connections in the enginebay;

And now the car looks like this without the morette head lights;

Now i'll hope to find some time to take some updates out off the shed on to the car .

looking very good, best colour for a classic.

where did you get the avcr mounting bit from, or did you make it your self?

if you made it, fancy selling it?

I think you mean the part in the engine bay ,that i made myself without the whright tools for iron work.

And if i sell it to you it would cost more shipping it then fabricating one yourself .

The place where the AVC-R itself is mounted where the switches for the reading lights.
I took some electrical wire and connected it up there and run the wires down to the centre console.
The switches are suposed to come in front off the handbrake but i'm still looking for 2 of the same oem on/off switches.

I had time to mount the steering rack bushes (no easy job some times it can make you ).

Some new hoses for the I.C. in red with new clamps from Mikalor (man they are huge ) and cleaned the hood on the inside;

And the DIY P1 covers are on the car;

The car is still from his feet and without the front wheels so i hope to tackle the sti wishbones this week.
So that shortend up the list a bit,the 10th off May i have a appointment to do the motor and topmounts and braided hoses if they are in and check the alignment.

Excellent thread on the car. Fair play to you.

Are my eyes deceiving me or is the paint on the P1 style covers NOT a match? It just doesnt look the same colour.
