Default Pics after a trip to Powerstation !

Here's a pic of my 06 FXT with some Forester Sti Struts and springs that I had fitted by Powerstation yesterday.

Got these from Simon (Psi3) when he got his AST's fitted. Many thanks mate ! I also had a Whiteline 22mm ARB put on at the same time.

First impressions are that it's not as big a transformation as perhaps I had hoped. Ride is pretty much unchanged, perhaps a bit firmer. Turn in is sharper and handling around the bends is pretty neutral. Better than before but not huge. Drop is quite subtle, would like another cm or so really..
Unfortunately the car still doesn't feel as connected to the road as I'd thought..still feels a bit floaty and not so planted..

Other mods on included the PFF7's / Prodrive Brakes / Subaru sports grill / Bugeye Sti Scoop.



Roll on engine mods next

hi, looking good

if you don't mind me asking, how much did the struts/springs cost, and how much lower is it? Do you think they could be changed with the standard ones easily.

Did you have to have the struts too, or could you have just had the lower springs?

I bought the struts/springs second hand, probably dropped it about 20mm I would guess.
With the later Foresters you have to change the struts as well as they are self levelling on the rear so you can't just put shorter springs on ..

BTW that ruddy pea gravel gets everywhere

Bartop your silver WRX was nice and your Forester seems to be heading the same way.

What plans do you have for the engine.

Cheers mate..taking a slightly different route with this one as you may have noticed from the lack of stickers and carbon fibre

Planning on a VF39/Miltek exhaust/bigger tmic/filter/fuel pump/remap and try and get near what the Forester Sti boys have been making ie 330-340 bhp and similar torque

was there a reason you didnt get the forester sti bartop? also are you missing the impreza?

I could have stretched to an 05 shape Forester Sti but I really wanted an 06 shape. Plus the deal I got on the one I bought with the convenience of PX with the impreza swung it for me..

...plus I get to mod the hell out of the FXT

On the plus side I get cruise control, leather heated seats, on the downside I'll never realistically get the 6 speed box, seats, steering and overall Kudos of the Sti...

..and yes I do miss the WRX !

haha, il cathch the modding disease eventually i think, right now im just letting my bank heal up! i see what you mean. the 06 is as lot nicer than the 05. do you not like the 5speed gearbox? I like mine alot in my impreza, had an 05sti for a few hours whilst mine was at dealer and could not see why they have it other than to use 6th for curisng on a motorway.
