Geneva Motor Show (Part 1 - 16 pics)
Spent a good 5 hours going round the show yesterday with corradoboy and his good lady...a big show this year and here are a few pics.
The Alfa Berera
An Alfa model
DB9
Notice the video screens in the head rests and the chessboard in the boot
The V8 Vantage - nice in white
Contrast the Astons with this absolute monstrosity from Chrysler - the Imperial - if you thought the 300C was ugly, this is 10 times larger...
A concept car from Citroen
Ford's WRC mock up
Jeep had a very interesting stand, this waterfall could display text (in this case it was part of Grand Cherokee) and we spent a while resting and waiting for the simley face to be displayed
Some old piece of rubbish from Mercedes:
The new Opel GT roadster
The bemusing Smart Crosstown
And from the yanks, the Dodge Viper
More from the show later, including the wicked Mitsubishi Concept X and the supercars.

Great pics Alwyn, and many thanks for help in arranging our trip and taking the time to join us at the show. Our first time in France and Switzerland (although it was a little bemusing that within 2 minutes of arriving in Switzerland we were in France, then back again, and then back in France .... ) and knowing you have someone local to meet up with makes it a little more comfortable, as we're not big international travellers. We were delayed on the way home due to a faulty door, which was OK once a little gaffer tape was applied. The pilot comforted us all by giving us full details of the technical problems and that we should "in light of this pay particular attention to the safety briefing"
Will put my pics up shortly, when I've found the right lead
My stars of the show were similar to Alwyn's. The Evo X will kill Subaru dead in the performance saloon market if they continue with their current design direction or follow that God-awful B5 route. The Veyron and Zonda were jaw dropping, and the brakes on the 612bhp V12 twin turbo Merc were astounding. Lots of wierd and wacky concepts that'll never see the light of day, and some truly bland stuff that probably already has or will. I found some stands truly dull as it was difficult to think of a car they produce that is interesting. VW for one, and I don't think we even set foot on the BMW stand.

Hi David, glad to see you made it back safely <waving at Keith>. Gaffer tape on an aircraft door? I'd probably have waited for the next plane Pity the weather was so crap as Geneva is pretty boring when it's raining but there's lots to see and do when it's dry or when the sun comes out. Have to say, after the show, it wasn't just my nipper's legs that were feeling the aches, I think that's the most I've walked for the last few years!!!
