Default V-Mount Kit Installed!!

Power Enterprise V-Mount kit has been successfully installed into my MY06 STI Spec C Type RA, along with a few others....

Here is what was installed:

- Power Enterprise Cool Power V (V-Mount I/C, Radiator, M/T cooler, P/S cooler - I/C and Radiator made by ARC in Japan )
- Injen Cold Air Intake
- APS Turbo Inlet Pipe
- AVO Actuator

Also already installed:
- Tomei Exhaust Manifold
- 3 inch TBE
- Perrin lightweight crank pulley

In terms of driving, wow what a difference. The turbo is hitting full boost of 1.7-1.8 bar in 5th gear @ 3100RPM and now can manage 1.2 bar @ 7000RPM. There is no additional lag whatsoever, in fact it has reduced (previously hit full boost of 1.5bar @ 3500rpm)

The new intake goodies are probably making the car run a bit leaner, which is a good thing as my car was running very rich previously (10:1). The new actuator also helps, boost is spiking quite a bit though (1.8 bar) so in need of a tune. The car feels 220kW ATW now (198kW ATW stock), it has an Autronic ECU now installed with road tune on Monday...

Before work began with the front bumper removed...note the position of the engine oil cooler in front of the A/C condenser and radiator at the bottom on the drivers side...you can also see the power steering cooler (pipes shaped like a rectangle) directly above the oil cooler

New Manual Transmission (top) and Power Steering (bottom) Cooler...you can also see the Perrin lightweight crank pulley (< 1kg vs 4.5kg stock)

wow, looks good, cant believe the size of the intercooler, would be good to see some close up shots with all the bumper and grill back on, whats the main advantage of this against the 'usual' FMIC setup?

Main advantages are shorter piping which means less lag and less pressure drop...the V mount of the system also directs air up into the intercooler, and the radiator is more effective as it is not blocked by a FMIC...

Even though the core is smallish, this kit is actually made by ARC in Japan (best I/Cs out of Japan) and is rated to support up to 500HP...

Good to see someone trying something totally different

You should start a thread in Projects so it can be looked up and you can update it when you get it re-mapped.

No - we did need to cut the black plastic on the inside of the front air dam scoop to fit the radiator...but no direct cutting of the bumper.

I'm getting all of the black plastic cut away to tidy it up, and improve air flow through the front...

BEAUTIFUL. Absolutely beautiful trust me, U've set the bar really high. Super clean wrk. One question though with the position of the intake would u have any issues with flooded rds? I dont how bad the rds get over ur side but here in JA we have serious issues with flooded rds after a heavy shower.
