Yes the front lip and front grill are both MRO items. Not sure if anyone else took up the design of that specific front lip.

Whatever wheels you go for I`d avoid parking on Front St. Monkseaton , opposite the Monkey , Thats a mighty high curb and when I saw you parked there a couple of weeks ago you couldn`t have got a *** paper in the gap

Mr Footlong - Madness, it's a small world! Yeah, I know the Reg makes it look older, I've had it for a few years and just wanted to put it on!!

Motoring is fine! The big ends went within 4 weeks!! Was nearly crying! I've since had a full rebuild, top and bottom. It's just beginning to loosen up now after 3000 miles. It's really nice to drive!! Don't know wether to upgrade the TMIC, fuel pump/reg and the PFC it, or go over to the dark side (VIII MR's are calling me)!!!!

Have you still got the black 2.2??

Nick.

Noooo . Did she give you any notice before it went pete tong? None of the services picked up anything 'not right' with her at all . Everytime she was serviced I explicitely asked them to check her over. You didn't let your right foot get the better of you did you?

Yeah, I still have 'fluffy', finally made her actually look menacing. I have made her more like the old one as she was too damn soft all round.

I did have a bit of a lead foot on at the time, oh well, that's what they're there for!! It feels much tighter and more responsive now it's had the rebuild, so pretty chuffed with it TBH!

It's the only car I've had that, after 7 months of ownership, it still puts a smile on my face when I drive it!! I'm still loving it!!

Apparently the STi engines usually go around the 60,000 mark, **** happens!!!

Did it just go? As in driving along normally and then boom? Did you feel anything odd beforehand? I never felt anything wrong with the engine at all, she always purred, well roared quite happily. That obscenely long RAC check you had done found nothing either .

As long as it didn't cost the earth and is better than ever that's the most important thing.

P.S. I hope you still have that extremely hot girlfriend of yours .

Cheers,

Nick.

TBH I was booting it when it went! That's what I bought it for though, not to boot it everywhere, just on the odd occassion!

I got a full engine rebuild from a local specialist (AS Performance) for a very reasonable price so it wasn't that bad! They said that you cannot predict the big ends going. You might hear a slight rattle or knocking, but, even at that stage it would have had to have been taken apart for inspection.

PS - Yup, I've still got the incredibly hot girl!!

I am assuming that the above post is referring to a group buy on the wheels in the pic or what? If so can you say what they are please and the size in that pic?

Danke.

I never got an actual dB value of that exhaust system I put on her. We tried with a decibel meter but it went off the scale every time we tried to test her from a few feet! That is the one thing I miss the most, everyone would get out of the way on the motorway etc just to stop their bodywork from vibrating .

I've also tried to measure it, but I didn't have a meter that would be able to go that loud!! I've got a bung for , makes it really quiet, never brought myself to put it in!!

You're right about people on the motorway, they seem to move straight out of the way!!
